Two entries. Both visited, and neither of them shouts.
Notes for Washington

These two are twenty-five minutes apart on foot and belong in the same day. Phillips first, while it is empty; Dumbarton Oaks after lunch, when the garden has warmed up a little.

April is the answer for the garden and any month at all is the answer for the pictures. I have done both in one afternoon and regretted only the shoes.

Everyone comes to this city for the national institutions on the Mall. Neither of these is on the Mall, and that is precisely why they are the two entries kept here.
