Cincinnati

A Federal house with Turners in it, in Ohio. Precisely the sort of improbable this directory exists for.

The good American collections are not where you expect them, and the ones that stayed in the house they were bought for are better still.

A morning is enough. Do not let that put you off going.

The entries

One entry, visited in October, and worth the detour it requires.
Notes for Cincinnati

This is the entry people raise an eyebrow at, and it is the one I defend hardest. A Federal house, kept as a house, with pictures in it that would be queued for anywhere else.

October, for the light and for the trees, though the house does not depend on the season the way the Gardner does.

It is a morning, not a day. Build a journey around something else and put this in it — that is not a criticism, it is how the best small houses are properly used.
