One entry, one city, and a hollow mark against my name. I have not been, and the directory says so.
Peru enters the directory on a single mark, and an unvisited one. I will not dress that up. The country is here because one museum in Lima does the thing I have been arguing for since I started keeping this list, and I would rather record the intention plainly than pretend to a morning I have not had.
August is the season noted against the entry, which is the coastal winter — grey, flat, and by every account the right light for looking at pots indoors. It is also the flight I keep not booking, on the grounds that the trip deserves a fortnight rather than a weekend.
There will be more here in time. Arequipa and Cusco are both spoken of, and neither has been looked into properly enough to earn a plate. When they do, they will arrive with a mark of their own — hollow first, and filled only when I have been.
