One entry, an hour and a quarter from Paris, and I have not been — which I have dressed up as taste for rather too long.
Written as a plan. Nothing above has happened yet.
I have not been, so there will be no account of the light on the water or how long the rooms take. Those are the details one invents, and this directory does not invent.
The reason it is kept is straightforward enough: a painter's house and the garden he built to have something to paint, which is a rarer arrangement than it sounds. Most artists' houses hold the work. This one holds the subject.
The plan, when I finally make it, is the first admission of the day in early May, out from Paris on the Rouen line and back before lunch. Until then this is an intention with a plate number, and the standing below says so.
