One entry so far, in a city built on a hill, and I have not yet stood in it. The page is honest about that.
A single entry is not a survey of a country, and I am not going to pretend otherwise. What is here is Hong Kong, and what is in Hong Kong is one collection kept by appointment. The rest of China is a gap in this directory rather than a judgement about it.
By appointment means writing first and going when they say, not when it suits the itinerary. That is the whole planning problem here: the house sets the hour, and one has to build the day outward from it.
I have it pencilled for January, on the grounds that the light is dry and the hill is walkable then. Until I have been, the mark stays hollow and the note stays short.
